I fell in love with photographs at the age of ten when my oldest brother would allow me to use his Polaroid camera to snap pictures of the family and visiting friends, especially during the holidays or for birthdays. My love for the still image and all it can contain as well as convey began then, followed by the hobby of it, then formal study.
After managing and developing new business for several commercial photographers, I worked in advertising, marketing, art and creative direction. In time, photography and art in general became not just a passion, but also the background to my life, a constant. Whenever and wherever I would travel, I would always go to the nearby museums, galleries, or exhibitions.
I spent five years at the Philadelphia Museum of Art as a grants manager for special exhibitions. That was a serious art history education. A wonderful experience.
Several years ago, for the first time in over two decades, I showed my work in a group exhibition. The results were positive. I sold a few!
If there's any one theme that runs through a lot of my work, it's an appreciation for the simple, the ordinary, viewed with mindfulness.
I hope you enjoy the photographs.
